Permanent Resident (PR) Card
Initial PR card issuance, renewal, and replacement of lost or expired cards.
What is a PR Card?
The Permanent Resident (PR) Card is a wallet-sized identification card for individuals holding permanent residency in Canada. It functions as an official travel document enabling permanent residents to re-enter Canada via commercial carriers and verifies PR status upon return.
Who Needs a PR Card?
All Canadian permanent residents traveling outside Canada need a valid PR Card to re-enter the country via commercial transportation. Without one, applicants must obtain a Permanent Resident Travel Document (PRTD) to return.

Applicants qualify if they:

- Have not obtained a PR Card or need a replacement for lost, stolen, or expired cards.
